• Access forecasts and data released by the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA).

• Links to the JMA's source are included for all information, allowing you to access the original JMA data at any time.

• A lightweight app of approximately 1.2MB. It won't take up much space on your device. It's significantly lighter than typical weather apps (version 2.1; size may vary slightly depending on the device).

== Information provided by the Weather Monitor ==

* 3-hour forecast (regional time-series forecast)
Displays 3-hour forecasts for weather, temperature, and wind, along with thumbnails of surrounding areas in the weather distribution forecast. By checking the weather in the surrounding area together, you can quickly determine whether it's perfectly clear or mostly cloudy, even if it's the same "sunny" forecast.

* Weekly forecast and calendar
Displays weather, precipitation probability, maximum and minimum temperatures, and forecast reliability up to 7 days in advance.
In addition, you can view holidays, the 24 solar terms, seasonal festivals, average temperatures, moon phases, sunrise and sunset times, etc., in a yearly calendar format, making it easier to grasp long-term seasonal changes.

* **Easy-to-Understand Dual-Screen Rain Cloud Radar Up to 15 Hours Ahead**
The rain cloud radar is displayed on two screens, a wide-area view and a detailed view, allowing you to grasp the movement of rain clouds in your area and the nationwide rain cloud situation at a glance.

While the Japan Meteorological Agency's website provides separate high-precision rain cloud radars up to 1 hour ahead and low-precision rain cloud radars up to 15 hours ahead, the Weather Monitor allows you to view them seamlessly and continuously up to 15 hours ahead.

Links to disaster maps (landslides, floods, inundation) are also included.

* **Disaster Prevention Information**
Displays information on warnings, advisories, major earthquakes, and typhoons when they occur.

Warnings and advisories are compatible with the new format from May 2026. Future forecasts are also displayed in 3-hour time series.

* **AMeDAS Observation Data**
Displays temperature, atmospheric pressure, humidity, rainfall, and snow depth in hourly graph format. Graphs can be viewed going back up to 7 days.

The latest data every 10 minutes is also available.

* Weather Maps and Pressure Patterns
The app displays real-time weather maps every three hours for the past three days, along with forecast weather maps (24-hour and 48-hour), in an animated format, allowing you to visually check changes in pressure patterns.

* Himawari Satellite Images
Hourly Himawari satellite images for the past three days are displayed in an animated format, allowing you to understand cloud movement over a wide area.

* Weather Overview Commentary
You can also view the weather overview commentary published by the Japan Meteorological Agency.

* Useful Links
A collection of links provides quick access to various related information, including long-range forecasts, UV information, yellow dust information, pollen information, live cameras, river information, hazard maps, heatstroke information, and railway operation information.

== Supplementary Information ==

* All forecasts and observation data are published directly from the Japan Meteorological Agency. No independent forecasts or numerical processing have been performed.

* The weather monitor is also available on the website (https://soramoni.jp/). Settings such as registered region are shared between the app and the website.

*This app utilizes PWA (Progressive Web App) technology. A PWA-compatible browser such as Chrome is required to use it.
