Krita is a full-featured digital painting application designed for artists. Whether you create illustrations, comics, animations, concept art or storyboards – Krita will be a powerful tool for you.

Krita offers many common and innovative features to make painting more fun and more productive. There are great brush engines for sketching and painting, stabilizers for freehand inking, assistants for constructing complex scenes, a distraction-free canvas-only mode for painting without bother, clone layers, layer styles, filter and transform masks for non-destructive editing. Krita supports all the most used file formats, including PSD.

This is a beta release of Krita and is not suitable for real work yet. Since the interface is currently optimized for big screen devices (tablets and chromebooks) we are not making it available for phones yet.

been learning my way around this program coming from FireAlpaca on my laptop, which has recently died on me for good so i needed a nice and robust mobile alternative to my laptop workflow and this has been great so far, works swimmingly with samsung dex and my portable monitor (15 inches). one problem is i have a really limited selection of fonts, ones I have downloaded dont show up in the list, even after restarting the app. big pain point as a cover designer

Great for Galaxy Fold. I can see every menu option, have responsive feedback, no lag, and I can animate on the go. It's great for when I have a quick idea and I'm not at my desk. Plus I can save and continue to work on it from my desk. Recommended it to my wife and we haven't looked back. Worth the download

It's unfortunately unusable on android. The boxes load way too big and don't let you zoom out or scroll. I tried landscape and that didn't work either. It looks like it would be good... On desktop. Exclusively. However I don't have a tablet or stylus to try it with a larger screen, and desktop is useless to me without a stylus. 🤷🏻‍♀️

What’s new

This release fixes a number of issues with the text tool, and improves the Selection Action Panel significantly. Furthermore, Android now handles resource copying in the background, preventing a common crash on startup.
