About this app

Krita is a full-featured digital painting application designed for artists. Whether you create illustrations, comics, animations, concept art or storyboards – Krita will be a powerful tool for you.

Krita offers many common and innovative features to make painting more fun and more productive. There are great brush engines for sketching and painting, stabilizers for freehand inking, assistants for constructing complex scenes, a distraction-free canvas-only mode for painting without bother, clone layers, layer styles, filter and transform masks for non-destructive editing. Krita supports all the most used file formats, including PSD.

This is a beta release of Krita and is not suitable for real work yet. Since the interface is currently optimized for big screen devices (tablets and chromebooks) we are not making it available for phones yet.

not an app to use on small screen phones that has a screen size of 4 inches wide and 7 to 8 inches long, as the app itself is poorly optimized for phone use, it has potential but its potential will only be realized when the devs change the way the app acts on phone, as it acts as if you're on a computer and not a phone, so my opinion on this as an artists PoV I would not recommend until they get this app properly optimized, so you're better off sticking to it on the computer.

It's unfortunately unusable on android. The boxes load way too big and don't let you zoom out or scroll. I tried landscape and that didn't work either. It looks like it would be good... On desktop. Exclusively. However I don't have a tablet or stylus to try it with a larger screen, and desktop is useless to me without a stylus. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Great for Galaxy Fold. I can see every menu option, have responsive feedback, no lag, and I can animate on the go. It's great for when I have a quick idea and I'm not at my desk. Plus I can save and continue to work on it from my desk. Recommended it to my wife and we haven't looked back. Worth the download

What’s new

Krita 5.3.3 now lets you support Krita's development directly through the application. In return, you'll be able to download resource bundles directly in the application, including the paid Digital Atelier bundle. The splash screen and welcome page will also tell you about the supporter packs or donation links.

You are not required to make any purchases, no actual Krita features are locked behind a paywall.
