I have used MalWareBytes for years on my PC with "premium" features that I paid for ONCE. Now they only RENT the premium version (you have to pay annually). I also have had the FREE version on my Android phones, but now I got a new basic Samsung to use with my old prepaid number, and MWB won't run without credit card! I will have to uninstall it, then I will use "Samsung Switch" to transfer the old version from my old phone to the new one. Before you do this, make sure you have auto updates OFF!

For the most part this app is quiet and unintrusive. Pros: Quiet, just works. Conns: needs god level admin permissions to protect browser? Puts icons all over the place. Put multiple notifications up to remind me it's there, or of notices I found anoying and disabled, it needed to remind me of this and showed the notice anyway. File scans start at weird times, get stuck, require device restart to fix. Fortunately, that I know. Malwarebytes has done nothing to make my device slower, or crash.

Don't use it if you are planning in changing phones often. I changed phones 2 weeks ago and when trying to reestablish subscription with Google play via the app, it tells me that it can't and give me an error. I had sent many emails to malwarebytes asking for assistance and they ignore them. I purchased the subscription on October. I want a refund or for them to fix the issue. I will give 4 or more stars, but bad customer service is a big no for a large company.
