About this app

Misaskim is a free app from Misaskim, the nonprofit that supports Jewish families in mourning.

SHIVA LISTINGS - open to everyone, no account needed
See where families are sitting shiva, the same public notices posted on misaskim.org, updated through the day.
- Address, minyan times and when the shiva ends
- Each family member's own note, the cross street, and phone numbers the family posted
- Sort by what's near you, or see it on a map
- One tap for directions, or share a listing with family and friends
- Remind me to visit: pick tonight, tomorrow, or any day and time you choose
- New shiva alerts: get a notification when a new shiva is posted in Boro Park, Flatbush, Lakewood, the Five Towns, Monsey and other areas you pick

Reminders and alerts never go out on Shabbos or Yom Tov.

DISPATCH - for Misaskim volunteers
Approved volunteers and dispatchers sign in to coordinate shiva and levaya deliveries: calls go out to the volunteers covering each neighborhood, who can accept, see what to bring and where, and mark the delivery done. Volunteer accounts are set up by Misaskim coordinators.

What’s new

Call cards: thin area-color border, light red when a call needs help and light gold for VIP, with the date and hours lined up on the right. Pickups say PICKUP. Call or text whoever has a van from the van list.
