Want to join the global prayer movement? Operation World (OW), the definitive global prayer handbook, has been used by millions of Christians to pray for the nations. Now, with the mobile app, you can receive reminders to pray for the “country of the day,” discover information about every nation and engage with the praise reports and more in-depth prayer requests given for each country of the world.

OW is widely regarded as the definitive volume of prayer information about the world and is the recipient of the ECPA Gold Medallion Award for Excellence in Evangelical Christian Literature.

OW has had seven editions published along with several reprints. The original edition was produced in 1964, based from Southern Africa, and was only 32 pages of basic information about 30 countries. The most recent OW publication was an abridged version, called Pray for the World, which was released in late 2015. The app contains curated material from both of these resources along with selective updates.

The various editions of OW and Pray for the World have been translated into several other languages: Arabic, Amharic, Chinese, French, German, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, and Urdu. The cumulative number of copies printed in all languages approaches 2.5 million.

OW is listed in Christianity Today's “The Top 50 Books That Have Shaped Evangelicals: Landmark titles that changed the way we think, talk, witness, worship, and live.”

Pray for the world while you learn about it! I love all of the information about various countries. Unfortunately, my daily reminder has not been popping up. The settings appear to be correct (reminders enabled, scheduled for 7:00 AM). Maybe it has something to do with the length of time since an update has been made?

Great app. So thankful for the prompts to pray for the nations. However I am unable to open it anymore in my pixel 7 pro. I don't know if it's a me thing or an app thing but anytime I open it it just stays frozen on the loading screen with the operation world logo. UPDATE: after the most recent update it works. Thanks!

I am delighted with this app. I have been using it daily since the end of October and have learnt so much about the world and what the Lord is doing. I love the maps and flags but would like to scroll them up while I read the text, or even pause them, as they are a little distracting. Could I also suggest that if we are praying for a country or topic for more than 1 day there could be an indication such as 1/3, 2/3, etc. *ed. 15/2/21 Thank you for adding this last suggestion! Very helpful.
