About this app

Universal TV remote for Roku, Samsung, LG, Fire TV, Android TV / Google TV and Vizio SmartCast. SmartCtrl turns your phone into a smart TV remote control over Wi-Fi: it finds every TV in the house in seconds — no account, no setup — and gives you the full remote for each one.

ONE UNIVERSAL REMOTE, EVERY TV BRAND
• Samsung TV remote — Tizen Smart TVs from 2016 on
• LG TV remote — webOS TVs from 2014 on, with the Magic Remote cursor
• Roku remote — Roku players, Roku Stick and Roku TV (TCL, Hisense, Sharp, Philips, onn)
• Fire TV remote — Fire TV Stick, Fire Stick 4K, Fire TV Cube and Fire TV Edition televisions
• Android TV remote and Google TV remote — Sony Bravia, TCL, Philips, Xiaomi, Chromecast with Google TV, Nvidia Shield
• Hisense remote — Hisense TVs running Roku TV, Google TV or Fire TV (VIDAA models are not supported yet)
• Vizio remote — SmartCast televisions, with the inputs named by the TV itself
No need for a different remote app per brand: one TV remote app replaces them all.

EVERY BUTTON OF YOUR TV REMOTE CONTROL
• Navigation pad, OK, back, home, exit, volume, mute, channel up/down, play/pause
• Number keypad, input/source, settings, guide and the colour keys where your TV has them
• Quick launch for Netflix, YouTube, Prime Video, Disney+ and more

TOUCHPAD AND KEYBOARD
Swipe to move, tap to select — like a laptop trackpad. On LG the touchpad drives the Magic Remote cursor. Type searches, passwords and URLs with your phone's keyboard instead of pecking at the on-screen letter grid.

YOUR TV'S APPS
Every app installed on the TV, with its real icon, one tap to launch.

A WI-FI REMOTE THAT STAYS AT HOME
Everything runs on your local network. No cloud, no account, no tracking — nothing leaves your home. Phone and TV just need the same Wi-Fi.

PAIR ONCE
Roku needs nothing. Samsung and LG ask once on the TV screen. Fire TV and Android TV show a code. After that, the universal remote connects by itself every time you open the app.

FREE, WITH NO PURCHASE
Every button is free and there is nothing to buy — no subscription, no one-time unlock. Ads pay for the app. Watch one short video and the five themes — Glass, Aurora, Carbon, Studio — and the 3D relief keys are yours for 24 hours; watch another to keep them another day.

WORKS WITH
Samsung Smart TV (Tizen, 2016+) · LG Smart TV (webOS, 2014+) · Roku, Roku Stick, Roku TV · Amazon Fire TV, Fire TV Stick, Fire Stick 4K, Fire TV Cube · Android TV and Google TV (Sony Bravia, TCL, Philips, Hisense Google TV, Xiaomi Mi Box, Chromecast with Google TV, Nvidia Shield). SmartCtrl is a WiFi remote: TVs that only accept infrared are not supported.

What’s new

Hisense VIDAA TVs could not connect. SmartCtrl now recognises them and says so clearly instead of showing an error, while we work on it. Hisense TVs running Roku TV, Google TV or Fire TV work as before. Roku, Samsung, LG, Fire TV, Android TV / Google TV and Vizio are unchanged — and every button is still free.
