About this app

Companion App to passwordcard.org website. Doesn't use Internet connection; scan QR code from site!

Generates a credit-card sized card with random letters and numbers for you, letting you pick secure passwords and remember them safely. You only have to remember a colour and a symbol (e.g. "red star" or "yellow umbrella").

Note that we are aware that the app does not work correctly on some Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0) devices. We're working on finding out why that is. If this happens to you, please mail us the details of your phone and Android version at pwcardapp@pepsoft.org.

I've been using a card for years. It's a good way to come up with difficult passwords and still be able to remember them! If you are using an older version of Android, long press the Options key to get the menu to enter your options. Unfortunately, on Android 8, you need a 3rd party app to get a menu to change the settings. Demoting the stars to 3. I've switched over to e-passwordcard which works the same as this app.

It's an old app but the idea was pretty good. On newer versions of Android though you cannot access the menu to update the key used to generate the card and it has limited usefulness as a result.
