About this app

PrivaLens helps you see and remove hidden metadata from your photos before you share them.

Photos can quietly carry GPS coordinates, exact timestamps, your device make and model, camera settings, lens info, software version, and other embedded fields. PrivaLens makes those fields visible, flags the sensitive ones, and creates a clean copy locally on your device.

Everything happens on your phone. No cloud upload. No server. No tracking. No ads. No accounts. The Android build does not even request internet permission.


WHAT YOU CAN DO

• Pick a photo and inspect every embedded metadata field, grouped by category
• See which fields are sensitive (location, device, timestamps, author, maker notes)
• Remove all metadata in one tap and share the clean copy through the system share sheet
• Clean up to 20 photos at once with batch mode
• Use PrivaLens as a share target — open Photos or Gallery, tap Share, choose Clean with PrivaLens
• Keep a local clean history with stats (no photos uploaded, no entries leave your device)


WHAT GETS DETECTED

• GPS latitude, longitude, altitude, movement direction
• Date taken, digitized, and modified
• Device make, model, software, lens, serial numbers
• Camera settings: focal length, ISO, shutter speed, aperture, flash, white balance
• Author, copyright, captions, keywords (IPTC and XMP)
• Apple maker metadata for photos originally taken on an iPhone
• Other embedded image metadata


HOW THE CLEANING WORKS

PrivaLens decodes the image and re-renders the pixels into a brand-new container. EXIF, GPS, IPTC, XMP, and maker-note dictionaries are all dropped. The visible photo is preserved at high quality. PNG with transparency stays as PNG; everything else is exported as high-quality JPEG.
