■Portacapture’s operability at the palm of your hands

The Portacapture Control is an app that provides operability with the same user interface as the touch panel on Portacapture.
In addition to the basic REC start/stop, gain adjustment, mixer control, mark registration, and all the other controls that can be performed on the main unit are available on this app. Moreover, you can always check information about the input level, recording progress/remaining time, battery level, as well as set various parameters including low-cut, limiter, and many more effects.

※The AK-BT1 Bluetooth adapter (separately sold) is needed to be able to control the main unit via the Portacapture Control app. For more information on how to connect Portacapture and AK-BT1 or how to use Portacapture Control, please refer to the instruction manual.

※This app does not support monitoring of the main unit’s input sound. To monitor this, please use the headphones output or the speaker function on Portacapture.

I just got this and it's working well for me so far. At first I paired the BT and opened the app which wouldn't connect. Don't do that. Instead, turn BT on, then open the app and let it connect. It only asked me for the location permission so far, so I don't know why someone's concerned about it reading their clipboard. The only trouble I've had is that the recording guide (in-context help) screen came onto the main unit and I couldn't get around it to start recording. With that feature shut off, it's working great. I'm grateful Tascam made an Android-compatible app. Too many other manufacturers skip it.

***Update: Location has to be turned on.... Strange* * * I don't get it. The app connected once but will not connect again no matter how many times I reboot everything and reinstall the app. The Portacapture shows up in the Bluetooth list, I only allow the app to pair the unit like the instructions explain but will not reconnect to the unit. The app in the play store indicates my phone is compatible. Disappointing since it was awesome for a minute the one time it connected.

Cannot trust an app that reads the contents of my clipboard each time it launches! The back button closes the app instead of acting like the "home" button on the device. Cannot use "Ext In" at the same time as Input 5-6 (same limitation as on the unit.)...appears they cheapened out and used shared hardware for those inputs. They also cheapened out by not including Bluetooth on every unit and instead opted for a dongle that sticks way out of the device and can get pulled out too easily.

What's new

- Unit and recording app settings can now be saved in up to 3 USER SETTINGS.

- INPUT SETTINGS can now be saved in up to 3 presets and loaded in each recording app.

- The USB MIX MINUS function can now be used in the PODCAST app.

- Selecting PAD and USB input is now possible when using the PODCAST app.

- When the app is communicating in the background on a device connection with the unit will no longer be interrupted, even if the device itself enters energy-saving mode.
