Why go through the Ropi?

Its specificity compared to the euro is that it only runs within a limited region, Mons-Borinage, and therefore favors the local economy and short distribution channels. Using the Ropi allows:

- to plug the leaks of money towards the external economy, and, consequently, to withdraw the money from the speculative circuit.

- to promote exchanges thanks to an increased speed of circulation, the Ropi cannot be hoarded.

- to promote ethical exchanges (respect for nature and the human being) by accepting within the network only service providers committed to respecting an ethical charter.

- to duplicate the currency: the Ropi finance local (and ethical) consumption, and the counterpart in euros of the guarantee fund placed in an ethical bank finances positive projects (Triodos bank currently but eventually the new Belgian cooperative bank New B or investment cooperatives like Crédal will also be considered)
