About this app

Learn the basics of Biblical Greek using short activities. Practice using a variety of words, pictures, audio, and sentences. Learn Biblical Greek using a guided reading progression.

Begin with learning the alphabet and some basic vocabulary. Scripturial contains over 700 activities built using 10,000 simple sentences; audio for 7,200 words and sentences; and over 1,600 images. Scripturial contains approximately 45 hours of beginner content. Each practice activity is roughly estimated to take a beginner 3-5 minutes. Complete 3 or 4 activities per day to complete the app in about 6 months. The main focus of this app is to provide graded comprehensible input designed to assist you in your journey to become comfortable reading Biblical Greek.

1. This application requires listening to audio and viewing pictures. You will need to use headphones and/or to unmute your phone. Designed for use on medium and large screens.
2. Enable local notifications on your phone for study reminder messages to help you progress.
3. This app is still in development, minor typos or issues may exist. Use the feedback button help us improve the app.
4. The activities in this app can be used to develop comfort with a little over 1 semesters worth of Biblical Greek.

Ratings and reviews

After downloading, I had some trouble registering. It wouldn't accept my full name and I had to use an abbreviated version of it. Once done however, the app has been wonderful to use. It is very similar to Duolingo in it's interface and method (this far at least). I have only completed a handful of lessons however.

I've just started using it and this is exactly what I was looking for as a complete beginner to Biblical Greek. excellent interface, explains things from the most basic level (starting with the alphabet which is perfect!) and extremely easy to navigate. Thank you for creating this app!

Few resources like this exist for Ancient Greek, a Duolingo style app that really helps me consolidate my learning in just a few spare minutes. This is exactly what I've been looking for, and best of all I can go at my own pace, skipping lessons if I am already comfortable with that topic. Very well made app, my only addition would be some way to turn off listening exercises incase I'm unable in the moment to listen. Would definitely recommend!
