I've used the rooted version of this app for years. I haven't had any issues moving to new phones with the paid version, even though I use the one from the developer's website rather than the play store version. It is true that on rare occasion it will miss some calls. I don't know if that's the app's fault or something to do with my phone. Just beware that it may not be absolutely 100% reliable for every call, however you can confirm whether or not it's recording during the call.

Failed to record an important conversation. The conversation was an hour long and the recording stopped after 9 minutes. It recorded another file of 1 second. I have the app set to vibrate on call start and end, so I know that it recognized the whole call - it only vibrated when I actually hung up. The app completely failed its purpose for me. At a glance, it seemed like it was such a well designed app :-\ If it somehow becomes reliable I'll change the review.

I am deliberately staying on Oreo just so I can keep this app's functionality. It's been worth every cent. It's never been easier to take notes from professional, banking or insurance calls, and I always have a reference if I forget something. ++ The app allows you to write down a short note after a call ends so you can keep track of which is which. It's super useful and I dread the day I'll have to "upgrade" to another phone and lose this.
