Ratings and reviews

Found SmartGuide with pregenerated tours, and the option to generate your own tour based on location and duration. The Karnak Temple was already generated, but it had only 16 stops with about 1min of audio each place - and it guided us to places, closed, no access. Author has never been there! 0.5 Stars! Tried to generate a custom tour - the app kept failing, not possible. 0 Stars! Great concept, but failed implementation. Go find a working app and save your precious vacation and money.

a good start, but for me it fell short. first, the AI voices are terrible and the pronunciation of names/places was the worst version of an American attempting to pronounce things. it was painful. second, the path it had me take between some points didn't make sense and I would have missed so many great (and important) things along the way. finally, the info itself was short and nothing I wouldn't be able to get online. nothing special, no storytelling. also, ate so much of my phone battery.

Even though I bought a year subscription, screen is chock-full of ads, rendering this app total unusable and unsuited for the purpose. Each time you bring up the app, you must start over from the beginning and select the city you're in. Then it shows a few nearby points of interest. If you tap on a point of interest, you get bombarded with ads for tour guides, motorcycle rentals, event planners etc etc. There's no way to turn off, or even slow down, the non-stop torrent of ads.
