Wave Surfer helps you track and ride out cravings using techniques from Mindfulness-Based Relapse Prevention (MBRP).
The core idea is simple: cravings are like waves. They rise, peak, and naturally pass. Rather than fighting them or giving in, you learn to observe them with curiosity and ride them out. Every wave you surf makes the next one easier.
How it works:
When a craving hits and you ride it out, tap "Wave Surfed" to log it. Rate the intensity from 1-10 to track how strong it was. If a craving gets the better of you, tap "Wiped out?" to log it honestly — no judgement, just awareness.
Logging everything helps you learn from patterns.
Check in with your mood once a day. Rate how you're feeling from 1-10 and add an optional note. Over time, this helps you spot connections between your mood and when cravings hit.
The Stats tab shows your journey in numbers — daily wave counts, intensity trends, mood patterns, and streaks. Scatter charts show exactly when cravings happen throughout the day and week, so you can identify your triggers. Wiped out moments show as red dots among the blue, giving you an honest picture of your progress.
Wave Surfer also includes the SOBER breathing space technique — a quick mindfulness practice you can use anywhere when a difficult moment hits: Stop, Observe, Breathe, Expand, Respond.
