About this app

Palace is a free, easy-to-use e-reader app that lets you find, check out, and read or listen to books from your local library.

It’s been said that libraries are “palaces for the people” and the Palace app gives you instant access to your local “palace” any time, right from the palm of your hand.

All you need to sign up is your library card! And even if your library isn’t using Palace yet, you can still read more than 10,000 books--from children’s books to classics to foreign language books--for free from our Palace Bookshelf.

The Palace app is built and maintained by The Palace Project, a not-for-profit division of LYRASIS working in partnership with Digital Public Library of America with funding from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation. For more, visit https://thepalaceproject.org.

Generally fine, but in need of QOL improvemens. The UI is a bit clunky, but my main concern is the lack of support for Pixel Bud inputs ie:tap to pause, pause on removal, etc. This is important functionality for my work environment.

The search engine cannot produce similar results, and the selection of materials is minimal and unfavorable. Then, there isn't any option to save said materials. Finally, it's only books and audiobooks.

Hi Scottie, we’re sorry to hear that your experience with the app was less than satisfactory. We’re a small team working to support the mission of libraries, and that starts with providing a good user experience. Please know that your feedback is valuable to us and will aid in our continued improvements to the Palace app.

Simple and straightforward access to CT libraries digital collections! Would love more categories included under fiction, such as crime or mystery. And the search function is fairly bare bones. But overall very clean UI!
