About this app

Palace is a free, easy-to-use e-reader app that lets you find, check out, and read or listen to books from your local library.

It’s been said that libraries are “palaces for the people” and the Palace app gives you instant access to your local “palace” any time, right from the palm of your hand.

All you need to sign up is your library card! And even if your library isn’t using Palace yet, you can still read more than 10,000 books--from children’s books to classics to foreign language books--for free from our Palace Bookshelf.

The Palace app is built and maintained by The Palace Project, a not-for-profit division of LYRASIS working in partnership with Digital Public Library of America with funding from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation. For more, visit https://thepalaceproject.org.

As an audiobook enthusiast, I would like to express my appreciation for this app and its potential. However, I believe a few additions could greatly enhance my listening experience. Firstly, it would be beneficial to have some form of indicator to identify book series, making it easier to navigate and follow a series. Secondly, I suggest incorporating a feature that allows users to take notes or keep track of authors and books they follow or wish to read in the future

I've been using this to read short ebooks and my experience so far has been good. It's quick to download the book and pick back up from where you left off. It's very convenient for reading on the go. Im not sure if I just haven't figured out the search functions out yet, but I hope it gets expanded upon to make search results more refined.

Buggy as all heck. I have a pixel 7a. The interface of the catalog was clear and useable however the ability to access the item after checking out and listening /reading is wanting. I went back and found that the program produces a blank page with a grey featureless rectangle when I tried going back the next day. Despite deleting the app and then redownloading --going back in the grey rectangle remains and I cannot access my audio book.
