About this app

TripBuddy is a day-by-day trip planner that keeps your plans on your phone. No account, no sign-up, and your itinerary is there even when your signal isn't.

Make a trip, add stops to each day, and the app does the arithmetic: how far apart your stops are, roughly how long it takes to walk between them, what the whole trip costs, and how much of your budget is left.

PLAN EACH DAY
- Add stops with a time, place, budget and notes
- Drag stops into the order you'll actually do them
- See the distance and an estimated walking time between stops, so an impossible day is obvious before you're standing in it
- Keep tickets and booking confirmations attached to the stop they belong to

SEE IT ON A MAP
- Every day on a map, with stops numbered in order and the route drawn between them
- Find a place by name, or drag the map until the pin is where you want it
- Tap a pin to open its stop, or swipe through the day at the bottom of the screen

TRACK YOUR TRAVEL BUDGET
- Set a budget and the app adds up everything you've planned
- See spending by category, and how much you have left per day
- A meter that changes colour when you go over

TWO CURRENCIES, NO GUESSWORK
- Plan in the local currency of where you're going
- See every amount in your own currency too, at an exchange rate fixed for the trip
- The rate only updates when you tap refresh, and its date is always shown

SHARE WITH YOUR GROUP
- Export a trip to PDF and send it to anyone, no app needed

WORKS OFFLINE
Your trips, stops, budgets and attachments work without a connection. The map, place search and exchange rates need internet.

YOUR PLANS STAY ON YOUR PHONE
- No account and no sign-in
- Trips are stored on your device, not on a server
- Back up to a file whenever you like, including to Google Drive, and get a reminder before a trip starts
- Restoring merges trips instead of wiping what you have

MAKE IT YOURS
- Six colour themes, plus wallpaper colours on Android 12 and later
- Light or dark mode
- Metric or imperial, and your own currency

Maps by Google. Place search by Geoapify, using OpenStreetMap data. Exchange rates by ExchangeRate-API.
