The app works well enough but after the latest update in January 2023 there's no way to terminate the app. It just keeps running in the background even if you dismiss it, clear the notification, etc. If you dismiss its notification, it just comes back some time later. The only way I've found to actually stop it is to 'force quit'. I just checked and this app has consumed 15% of my phone's battery over the past day even though I only listened for a little over an hour. PLEASE FIX THIS!

This app used to work beautifully for me. It's the only NPR station app I can find where I can download the entire show (morning Edition/ ATC) and then play it back in full. As of December or January 2025- the app will time out if the WBUR screen is not up. In other words, if I switch to another app while listening to my download, the app cuts out. It basically makes it unusable. I was loving it so much. Listening on a pixel phone. I hope they can address these concerns.

Very disappointed when I switched from iPhone to Android to discover the WBUR app doesn't have the rewind/forward fast function while listening to live broadcasts. I often used to pause the broadcasts when interrupted at work, then start it again where I'd left off. Now, without that option I'm missing a good deal of the programs, which is frustrating. I'm certainly not getting the great experience I used to with my old iPhone app. Hope something can, and will, be done about this.
