Promotion every 30 seconds Upgraded to marshmallow on my nexus 5. App garbage please fix!
Love the app but..... 10/12/15 - Holy Crap what happened your app got worse please fix!!!asap!!!..................... Summer (2015)Update ... The app will play on the first launch after the install but then the sound cuts out and I have to uninstall/reinstall to make work.
2 steps forward, 5 steps back? I've just upgraded to Marshmallow. I primarily use the Discover feature for my commute home. Overall the app is a bit more stable on Marshmallow than Lollipop. But when you bring another app to the foreground, the audio of the wnyc app becomes horribly choppy. Put the wnyc app in the foreground, problem goes away. Oh, and it still requires a force stop when you're done with it Developers, please fix.
I love the app--or I would if it worked right. It seems after each update there's a new problem. Just a few days ago there was another update that supposedly fixed stability issues. Since then, the app seems to completely crash less frequently. But, an even more annoying bug now presents itself. The podcasts themselves stop with no warning. This seems to happen more frequently when my phone switches between wi-fi and 4G or back. (as it does walking in my neighborhood). Not only does the audio stop but the "bookmark" function no longer works. Instead of picking up where it left off, the individual program restarts from the beginning and I have to manually search for the point where it crashed. If I turn off wi-fi, it is somewhat better but still crashes on occasion. Besides, the whole point of wi-fi capability and neighborhood Optimum Wifi is to minimize data use. This app does not seem to allow that. It's truly annoying that this heavily promoted app that showcases WNYC's fantastic programming just can't work right.
Terribly buggy Horribly glitchy on my Nexus 5 (Lollipop 5.1). Only one episode of This American Life shown. Sometimes, the player will freeze completely. Edit: Android 6 now. Still unusable. It completely stops and freezes and forgets that it ever played the episode. This happened several times in a row when listening to a show. The sound completely breaks if I go to the home screen instead of staying on the app. Please fix it.
Flawed for car use I like streaming all my content via Bluetooth, especially in my car. However, the Bluetooth streaming volume level is super low. I have to really crank up the volume in my car or my Bluetooth headphones to hear content. I really wish the volume levels were a bit higher. Also, there still is a bug going from Wi-Fi to mobile data.
- Improvements to stability of the app and audio playback
- Fixed a bug preventing users from stopping audio after force closing the app
- Other Bug Fixes
