Listen to music as you fall asleep, watch TV using SlingBox, listen to the radio, watch a movie. Sleep Timer can stop all these and more from waking you up by turning them off while you sleep.
- Works with **video** as well as audio applications
- Customize what happens when the timer ends
- Stops music from playing instead of just turning the volume down
Note: Video applications do not need any actions for Sleep Timer to stop them. Try different actions with audio applications using the 1 minute timer to find an action that works.
Many audio apps do not have a "Stop" function; "Play/Pause" usually works.

There is a rare issue with the timer freezing. Still investigating the cause.
Get the free Egg Timer - the only one that can boil multiple different eggs at the same time and uses the Android notification bar to keep you up to date.
If you like the app buy Egg Timer Pro which is Ad Free and supports App2SD.
In case of any issue or suggestion please contact the developer instead of just doing a bad voting!
Explanation of needed permissions:
Location information -
is needed to get the current altitude to calculate the boiling point. At higher altitude the boiling point is lower than at sea level.
is needed to keep processor from sleeping and screen from dimming if selected in the options.
Full internet access, Phone state and Network state are needed for advertisement. Those rights are not required by the Pro version of Egg Timer.

A simple tea timer, works when the phone is sleeping. Can even be used to time things _other_ than tea!
Please email me with suggestions/comments!
An open source effort: http://github.com/ralphleon/TeaTimer.
In version 1.7:
- Ability to stay awake (in settings)
- Color themes
You start the timer and it will give you an alarm when your egg is ready.
The boiling temperature is derived from the altitude above sea level, which is detected by network localisation (no GPS) so that it is accurate even within buildings.

Om is regarded as the eternal sound. It is the sound which is there in the universe all the time. It is said to be the only sound you would hear when you go into deep meditation. OM is made of 3 sub-sounds A, U and M.
As per Mandukya Upanishad:
1) The "A" stands for the state of wakefulness, where our sense organs are active
2) The "U" stands for the dream state, in which inward experiences are available
3) The "M" represents deep sleep, when the mind is without desire
Apart from the basic Om chant, the following mantra chants are provided:
- Om Gam Ganapataye Namah (Ganesha Mantra) - Removes all obstacles, when starting a new task
- Om Namo Narayanaya - Tribute to Vishnu, the Supreme God and his avatars including Rama & Krishna
- Om Bhur Bhuva Swaha (Gayathri Mantra) - Tribute to Savitr (Sun before sunrise), the life giver
- Om Namah Shivaya - Tribute to Shiva/Mahadeva, the Supreme Destroyer
- Om Mani Padme Hum - Worshiping the Buddhist Sacred Lotus Flower
- Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya - Tribute to Krishna, Mukti (liberation) mantra
- Om Maha Mrityunjaya - Death-conquering mantra, a tribute to Rudra (Shiva),
If you are new to meditation, instructions are provided for a 15 min (108 chants) meditation routine. Why not make meditation as part of your daily routine and achieve inner peace? If you already meditate, you can use this as a simple time ticker.
- Play various Om/Aum mantra chant endlessly
- Sleep Timer for Auto Exit after given time

Om/Aum has great spiritual significance in Hinduism, Buddhism & Jainism. It is also considered to have great healing powers. Regular Om chanting can help you overcome depression, loneliness, insomnia (sleep disorders) and stress. It could also help you quit bad habits like smoking, drugs or alcoholism by strengthening your mind.
This tool can help those who are familiar with various forms of meditations including Vipassana (Mindfulness), Zen/ZaZen, Vedanta (Transcendental), Taoist Qi gong, Reiki, Sparsh, Hindu Dharma (Indian), Chakra, Kundalini, Yoga and Pranayama.
This tool can also be used to play the auspicious Om sound in the background during pujas (prayers), archanas (offerings to God), aarti, stuti and other religious ceremonies.
More on OM and it's Significance
Different sounds have different effects on human psyche. The sacred utterances (chants) of Sanskrit Mantras provide us with the power to attain our goals and lift ourselves to a higher level of consciousness. They give us the power to cure diseases; ward off evils; gain wealth; acquire supernatural powers; worship a deity for exalted communion and for attaining blissful state and attain liberation.
Every Mantra in the Vedas begin with Om or Aum - the primordial sound, the sound that is said to have its origins at the time of the creation of the cosmos (the Big Bang).
Om harmonizes the physical forces with the emotional forces and with the intellectual forces and you begin to feel like a complete being - mentally and physically.
Daily chanting of Om or just playing it in your home can improve your concentration, good luck and good health. Even after you switch off the Om chants, it keeps playing in your mind and sustains the peace!
OM FOR ALL!

The widget is my implementation of Jerry Seinfeld's productivity secret (http://lifehacker.com/281626/jerry-seinfelds-productivity-secret):
"He said the way to be a better comic was to create better jokes and the way to create better jokes was to write every day. But his advice was better than that. He had a gem of a leverage technique he used on himself and you can use it to motivate yourself—even when you don't feel like it.
He revealed a unique calendar system he uses to pressure himself to write. Here's how it works.
He told me to get a big wall calendar that has a whole year on one page and hang it on a prominent wall. The next step was to get a big red magic marker.
He said for each day that I do my task of writing, I get to put a big red X over that day. "After a few days you'll have a chain. Just keep at it and the chain will grow longer every day. You'll like seeing that chain, especially when you get a few weeks under your belt. Your only job next is to not break the chain."
"Don't break the chain," he said again for emphasis."
The chain in this case is the number of consecutive days that you have hit your meditation target. The widget displays both the current chain, and the longest ever chain. Having this on my home screen motivates me to meditate every day. Your mileage may vary.
The bell sound in the app is by Jan McLaughlin at http://janmclaughlin.tv/.

The app is useless by itself. In order to be useful, it requires an archive of Pali and English texts placed on your SD card. An example of such an archive is here:
-- Records wav files to a customizable directory, with date and time stamps for file names.
-- Choose sample rate (8000, 11025, 16000, 22050, 44100)
-- Plays back last recorded wav file by default, but any wav file on the device can be played via the file picker.
-- Shows waveform for current wav file as background image.
