Imitation of Christ is a work of devotional literature, by Thomas of Kempis (1379 - 1471). His text is an aid to prayer and personal devotional practices. Some consider it one of the greatest treatises on Christian morality.

Imitation of Christ, composed of four volumes, in which he appeals to a life followed in the example of Christ, valuing communion as a way of strengthening the faith.

It was read by Saint Ignatius of Loyola at the time he was in a cave in Manresa, and helped him to conceive the Ignatian Spiritual Exercises.
