About this app

Grzybiarz helps you find mushrooms, identify the species, and remember where to return. All in one app, which works even when there's no signal in the forest.

CAMERA SEARCH
Aim your phone at the forest floor, and Grzybiarz helps you spot fruiting bodies hidden among leaves and pine needles. On-screen contours suggest where to look.

SPECIES RECOGNITION
Take a photo, and the app will suggest the most likely species with a confidence indicator. It will also show similar mushrooms, including poisonous look-alikes, and provide a checklist of characteristics for you to check yourself.

SAFETY
For each species, you'll find information about edibility and a warning about dangerous look-alikes. The decision to pick and eat is yours. Grzybiarz is a guide, not an oracle.

MUSHROOM HUNTING ROUTES
Start a session at the beginning of your outing, and the app will record the route, distance, time, and location of your finds. Upon return, you'll see the entire exit on the map.

OFFLINE MAPS
Download a map of your region (Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia) and use it without internet. It works the same way deep in the forest as it does at the edge.

FINDS LOG
You save each find with a photo, species, location, and a note. Over time, your own map of mushroom hotspots is created.

COMMUNITY
The heat map shows where the current location is. You share your finds only when you want, and your exact locations remain hidden. Others only see an approximate area.

SPECIES ATLAS
Over 100 species with descriptions, seasons, biotopes, and identifying features, also available offline.

PRIVACY
Mushroom Hunter doesn't require an account with a password. Routes and finds stay on your device. You share your location only if you want.

Remember that no app can replace knowledge and caution. Never pick or eat a mushroom you're unsure about.

What’s new

Improvements to small and partially obscured mushroom detection in Live. Find locations are captured when taking a photo, including outside a trip. Fixed saved-find counter refresh and recovery. If GPS is unavailable, the photo and entry can still be saved, with a notice that no map pin is available. Use Save find to add a find.
