About this app

As the drone market develops, the group of pilots using unmanned aircraft to conduct business activities or support rescue operations or activities related to ensuring public safety is expanding. By providing the CoTuLata application, the Polish Air Navigation Services Agency wants to support the unmanned aircraft market by increasing citizens' awareness and social acceptance of drone flights, which are becoming an increasingly common element of the sky above our heads.
If, while observing a drone flight, you sometimes wonder whether its pilot is conducting his flight legally - that is, whether he has made the appropriate notification in accordance with applicable regulations - the CoTuLata application is just for you. Just indicate your location and after confirming your location, you will be able to view the current map of reported drone flights in your surroundings. Submissions include, among others: information about the location, duration of the planned mission, maximum flight altitude. If such information appears on the CoTuLata map, it means that the pilot has made appropriate notifications and is most likely authorized to fly.
After verifying your contact details, you can also report a disturbing UAV flight in your area, especially if it is not visible on the map. Remember that the recipients of alerts will be public order services. Therefore, you must confirm your report by calling the emergency number 112. The application is intended to support the activities of institutions authorized to intervene, so make every effort to ensure that your report is accurate and justified. Only when these conditions are met will we together increase the safety of the sky above our heads.
Are you a drone pilot and are you worried that the application will be used to make anonymous, baseless accusations? First of all, if you are flying legally, you have no reason to worry. In addition, it is not possible for a report to be anonymous - the person reporting must have their phone number verified, and making an additional call to the emergency number will increase its credibility.
What do you gain?
As a citizen - broadly understood security and privacy protection. Verification of UAV flights performed in your environment will increase your sense of safety. It will also help protect against possible violations related to illegal drone flights. Reports of suspicious flights to law enforcement will become more accurate. They will contribute to effective and immediate response to potential threats.
As a drone pilot, we believe that the CoTuLata application will contribute to increasing the social acceptance of your flights. Also remember that the data contained in reports from the application may contribute to the successful resolution of any disputes. Recently, PANSA has been observing an increase in the number of inquiries regarding individual UAV flights, and in the vast majority of cases the legality of the operations carried out has been confirmed. We are convinced that the CoTuLata application will, in most cases, ensure citizens' sense of security without the need to involve representatives of external institutions.
