ProfilSol allows users to assess the structure and the physical condition of a mineral soil profile using two methods:
- The visual assessment of pedomorphological descriptors such as type, class and grade of soil structure, consistence and porosity.
Image analysis of a sampled soil using deep learning algorithms.
- This twofold method allows for a more robust evaluation of the soil’s structure and for identifying where problems occur in the field and in the soil profile.
