The Competition Council's mission regarding the optimal functioning of the markets for the retail sale of food and motor fuels as well as the manifestation of competition on these markets has been and continues to be focused on two main directions.

The first is to monitor the functioning of market mechanisms. This activity has the role of detecting possible violations / violations of legal regulations and, if there is conclusive evidence in this respect, to sanction the responsible enterprises.

The second objective of the competition authority is to stimulate competition in the retail markets for food and fuel and to improve the competitive environment in order to benefit end-users.

Price competition is an important feature of the market economy, with the role of generating both economic efficiency and important consumer benefits, including a diverse range of quality products at competitive prices.

The competition authority does not have the power to intervene in the formation of sales prices of active undertakings in a particular market or to regulate a level of those prices. However, the Competition Council constantly advocates for the end-user's well-being by remedying any malfunctions in a particular sector.

The price monitor takes into account that the price is not the only criterion for assessing a product, being complemented by elements such as: the type and quality of the services available, the quality and quantity of ancillary information available to the consumer, the quality of the product itself, and, last but not least, the consumer's decision as to the origin, brand, or product presentation. To this end, the information will be presented in a manner that allows for the assessment of these additional elements, without, however, transforming the platform into an advertising channel.

a lot of products are missing and they don't include prices at supermarkets like Kaufland or Auchan. The app would be very useful if it included more information

It doesn't work. It gives you two options when you open it: gas and groceries but either one opens a blank page.

Very useful! I use it to scan fuel stations and compare prices. I'm giving it 4 stars as sometimes prices shown in the app differ from the ones at the gas stations itself, but the margin is quite small.
