About this app

ShelfShare is a community marketplace for second-hand books, built for readers in Romania. Instead of letting books sit unread on a shelf, swap them, sell them, or find your next read from someone in your city — all without the middleman.

How it works

Add books from your shelf in seconds using ISBN scanning or search. List them for trade, for sale at a fixed price, or open them to auction with a minimum bid. Browse what other readers nearby have on offer, filter by genre, language, or distance, and message the owner directly when you find something you want. Once you agree on terms, arrange a meetup in a public place and complete the exchange in person.

A book's journey, tracked

Every book on ShelfShare carries its own history. When an exchange completes, we record who the book went to, when, in what condition, and with what photos — creating a chronological chain of owners. Pick up a novel that's been in five hands over three years and you'll see every one of them. It's one of the things that makes ShelfShare different from an ordinary marketplace.

Built for trust

Every listing requires real photos of the actual copy, not stock images. After each exchange both parties rate each other on communication, punctuality, and the accuracy of the book's described condition. A trust score, verified email, and account age help you decide who to trade with. Report and block are one tap away.

Privacy & control

You choose what's visible on your profile — real name or username, city or not, whether your book history is public. Message anyone or nobody. Delete your account and all associated data whenever you want, straight from the app.
