Flight Plate Control is the companion app for Flight Plate Monitor, the disc golf launch monitor. Install it on a second phone to calibrate the camera of the Flight Plate Monitor phone and to watch what that camera sees.
Flight Plate Monitor measures speed, spin, launch, nose, hyzer and wobble by filming the calibration pattern on the underside of your disc. For accurate angles it needs to know the exact properties of its camera lens. Flight Plate Control measures them for you.
CAMERA CALIBRATION
• Lay the Flight Plate Monitor phone on the ground, camera facing up, and connect the two phones
• Hold the disc with the printed pattern above the camera phone
• Flight Plate Control shows the live view and a sequence of target positions on screen. Move the disc onto each target, tilt it as instructed and hold it still. Each position is accepted automatically
• When you finish, the calibration is computed on the phone and sent to the camera phone, which stores it and uses it for every throw
• Mirror view makes it easier to follow the targets while you look down at the screen
LIVE PREVIEW
• See the camera phone's 120 fps view to check the framing before you throw
• Adjust the exposure and switch the camera phone's torch on or off
• Record the preview to a video file
CONNECTION
• Wi-Fi: both phones on the same Wi-Fi network or phone hotspot. The phones find each other automatically
• USB: connect the phones with a USB cable (for example USB-C to USB-C), the phone with this app has to be the host.
WHAT YOU NEED
• A second Android phone running Flight Plate Monitor
• The printed calibration pattern on the underside of your disc: tap Info in the app for the pdf
• Calibration is easier if the calibration patter is on a flat surface like back of a hard cover book rather than on a disc, which are typically a bit concave.

The app collects no personal data. Everything runs on your phones and your local network, and no internet connection or account is needed.

What’s new
Initial release. Note that the main app Flight Plate Monitor does not work on all Android phones, e.g. many Samsung models and One+ phones do not provide the 120 fps video required by the app.
