About this app

Echo turns your voice into text. Hold the button, say what is on your mind, and the note appears in a clean list, with the sound and the words side by side.

Everything happens on your phone. Speech recognition runs on the device, so your recordings never leave it. No account, no ads, no analytics.

RECORD IN ONE TOUCH
• Hold the button to record, release to save.
• Slide left to cancel, slide up to lock the recording and keep going hands-free.
• Pause and resume long recordings, or stop them from the notification.
• Start recording from a home screen widget, a quick settings tile or the app shortcut.

TEXT NEXT TO THE SOUND
• Notes are transcribed on the device, with punctuation, right after you record.
• Tap a word in the text and the recording plays from that spot.
• Play at 0.75×, 1.5× or 2× and skip back or forward by 10 seconds.
• Fix the text by hand any time, or transcribe again with another model.
• Turn a voice message or any audio file from another app into text with Share.

KEEP IT TIDY
• Folders, pinned notes and search.
• Reminders for notes you must not forget.
• Trash that keeps deleted notes for 30 days.
• Delete the sound and keep the text when you need the space.

YOURS, AND ONLY YOURS
• Share a note as text, or export all notes to a .txt or Markdown file.
• Save a backup with or without audio and restore it later.
• Lock the app with your fingerprint, face or phone passcode.

MAKE IT LOOK LIKE YOU
• Ready-made themes, colors, bubble styles and wallpapers.
• App language and speech language are chosen separately.

You choose the recognition model: a compact one or a more accurate one. A model is downloaded once over the internet, then the app works fully offline.
