Ecorhe is a portable mini art studio with a detailed anatomical model of the human head.

Knowledge of anatomy is crucial for creating vivid and believable portraits. Ecorhe is an anatomy learning app specifically for artists.

The app has an intuitive interface for easy navigation through 4 layers of facial anatomy:
• Skeletal — the foundation of the body, the bony landmarks help us track the muscles.
• Muscular — muscles give the body it’s basic shape.
• Fat — fat pads have a major effect on the shape of the face.
• Skin — skin is a layer with more subtle features for an artist to capture.

Skin, fat and muscular layers can be viewed in translucency ("X-Ray mode") to explore the layers relationships.

In the "Gypsum Mode", you can turn your model into a sculpture.

You can also customize the three-point lighting to your taste and thus study shape, value and color.

In the free version, you can observe the skin layer in both default and "gypsum" modes, all other functions are available in the Pro version.

The "Lex" model is created by the talented sculptor Kent Trammell from CG Cookie.

Ratings and reviews

This app is genuinely the best tool to use if you want to get good at portraits. The skeletal model has markings which I find so important and for some reason— never seen on other "anatomy for artists" apps. I would've given this app 5 stars if it wasn't for the performance issues like lag and random crashes at startup which really hurts experience. But the app compensates with its content. Basically, app is real good. Just needs performance optimization.

It's a very handy tool for artists. It does exactly what it says. I bought the pro version and I'm statisfied overall.

Very helpful, dies what it needs to do, and unlocking pro with an ad even for a few minutes is always a plus 👌
