CODICODY is an app for parents. The parent locks their child's phone, and the solved page of a school textbook problem book unlocks it.
How it works
• Problem books are purchased on the website code-cody.ru. There are no in-app purchases; installing the app is free.
• The app is installed on the child's phone with Android 7.0 or later and linked to the parent's account with a six-digit code.
• The parent locks the child's phone from the app on their phone or from their account on the website—either immediately or on a scheduled basis, such as during school hours.
• The book page opens on the locked phone. The answers to the problems form a four-digit code; in first-grade books, the child selects pictures. The code is not printed anywhere—it is provided by the solution.
• A correct answer unlocks the phone. After incorrect attempts, a pause is activated, and it increases. Each solved page is counted only once.
• The parent can unlock the phone themselves at any time, without a code.
What the parent sees
Whether the phone is locked, whether it has protection enabled, when the phone was last connected, and the phone's history: locks and unlocks, solved pages, pauses after incorrect answers.
What is enabled on the child's phone (this is done by the parent)
• Accessibility service "KODIKODI - Phone Protection." While the phone is locked, it keeps a book page on top of other apps and pauses videos and music. The service only receives window change events—the name of the opened app and the window type—to return the page to the top and not obscure the call screen. It does not read screen content, texts, or passwords; which apps were opened is not saved or transmitted to the server. Before enabling, the app displays an explanation and asks for consent.
• A persistent "Phone protection is enabled" notification appears in the notification bar while protection is active. On Android 13 and later, it requires notification permission—the app requests this during setup.
What the app doesn't do
It doesn't track location, doesn't read messages, contacts, photos, or files, doesn't take screenshots, and doesn't track websites and apps the child opens. There are no ads or third-party analytics.
Requirements
The child's phone must be Android 7.0 or later and have internet access. The app doesn't work on the child's iPhone. Parents can use the Android app or the account at code-cody.ru/cabinet in the browser of any phone, including iPhones.
Data and Deletion
Data is stored on servers in Russia. You can delete an account with all data about children, phones, schedules, and history in the app (Settings → Delete Account and All Data) or in the account on the website. How to do this: code-cody.ru/delete-account. Privacy Policy: code-cody.ru/privacy
