About this app

YaNaviPeb shows turn-by-turn directions from Yandex Maps on your Pebble Time 2 watch, so you can glance at your wrist instead of pulling out the phone.

While Yandex Maps guides you along a route, the watch shows:
• the maneuver arrow
• the distance to the next maneuver
• the maneuver text (for example, "Turn right")
• your arrival time
• the remaining distance and time

The watchapp opens by itself when navigation starts and closes when it ends.

HOW IT WORKS
YaNaviPeb reads the navigation notification that Yandex Maps (or Yandex Navigator with background navigation enabled) shows on your phone and passes it to your watch through the official Pebble app. The arrow is taken straight from the notification, so every maneuver Yandex Maps shows is supported.

PRIVACY
• Only the navigation notification of Yandex Maps or Yandex Navigator is read. All other notifications are ignored.
• Everything is processed on your phone. The app has no Internet permission, no servers, no accounts, no ads and no analytics.
• Notification access is granted by you in the system settings and can be revoked at any time.

REQUIREMENTS
• A Pebble watch with the YaNaviPeb watchapp installed. Tested on Pebble Time 2.
• The Pebble app (coredevices.coreapp) on your phone.
• Android 11 or newer.
• Yandex Maps, or Yandex Navigator with the "Background navigation" setting turned on. Without it, Navigator's notification has no maneuver data.

GETTING STARTED
1. Install the YaNaviPeb watchapp (watchapp.pbw) on the watch: download it from https://github.com/DimaK21/YaNaviPeb/releases/latest and open the file on your phone with the Pebble app.
2. Open YaNaviPeb and grant notification access.
3. Turn off battery optimization for YaNaviPeb and for the Pebble app, so the system does not stop them in the background. (optional)
4. Tap "Start watch demo" to test the connection without driving. Do not run the demo during real navigation.
5. Start a route in Yandex Maps and minimize the app. The watch does the rest.
