About this game

Darkness is marching on Danalor. 29 stages, 8 heroes and one line of living soldiers stand against it — offline, no timers, no connection needed.

Incursion: The Thing is the mobile chapter of the Incursion series that ran on Armor Games, Kongregate and the old Flash game portals, where the series was played over 50,000,000 times. If you grew up on browser tower defense, this is that game, rebuilt for touch.

── DEFENSE WITHOUT TOWERS ──
You do not plant turrets on fixed tiles. You recruit living warriors, archers, bombers, wizards and healers, place them anywhere along the road, and then pick them up and move them between waves as the enemy changes. Fallen soldiers rise again and return to the line. Where you commit your army matters far more than how much gold you spend.

── A HERO YOU ACTUALLY CONTROL ──
Walk your hero around the battlefield, aim spells by hand and juggle mana and cooldowns while the wave is still running. Eight heroes, each with a five-spell book and four ranks per spell — 40 abilities in total:

• Targa Wrathbringer — storm warrior: Chain Lightning, Storm, Healing Ward
• The Necromancer — Raise Dead, Parasite, Death Stamp, Vampirism
• The Nature Spirit — Force of Nature, Support Group, Werewolf
• RED — earth bruiser: Impale, Feel the Ground, Life Pact, Enrage
• The Puppet Master — Creep Control, Wooden Dolls, Hex
• Ginny — arcane gunner: Gun of Wishes, Energy Snake, Split Shot
• The Elemental — Spurts of Flame, Vortex of Power, Freeze the World
• Twoface — assassin: Sudden Death, Wicked Sick, Illusion

── BUILD AN ARMY, NOT A GRID ──
Every barrack unlocks a different answer to a different wave. Footmen to hold the choke point. Elven archers and bombers for splash. Wizards and archmages that summon lightning beasts. Healers behind the line, ninjas and blademasters for critical strikes, doomhammers to stun, ents that root the road, tamed pets and a dragon you win in a cave. Sixteen army-wide upgrades — armour, damage, range, attack speed, training cost, respawn speed and starting gold — carry from stage to stage.

── A CAMPAIGN WITH A STORY ──
Follow Targa Wrathbringer and the archer Kel Hawkbow across 29 hand-built medieval fantasy maps — the Sacred Grove, a dried-up lake with something living in it, a troll habitat, Sherwood Forest, the frozen Auryg Peak, a dragon cave, the Rootluk caverns underground, the Sarensland Gates and a final stand against Darkness itself. Recover the runes, carry the artifact to your King, and fight named bosses that talk back: Ettyr, Xyllos, Petyan Gaz, Rooltuk, the Broodmother, the Great Ice Elemental and Pharoh'Ahn.

── ENDLESS SURVIVAL ──
Clear the right campaign stages and Survival unlocks: endless waves, every unit you have earned so far, ten lives and nothing else. Each survival map keeps its own high-score leaderboard through Google Play Games.

── FEATURES ──
• 29 story stages, each playable on Normal and on Hard
• 8 playable heroes and 40 upgradable spells
• 16 army-wide upgrades across warriors, archers and wizards
• 50+ enemy types with their own abilities, armour and weaknesses
• 67 achievements and Google Play leaderboards
• Endless Survival mode on selected maps
• Fully offline — play on a plane, on the metro, anywhere
• One-time content, no energy bars, no waiting timers

── A WARNING, HONESTLY ──
This is an old-school, hardcore strategy game. Waves punish a lazy formation, Hard mode is genuinely hard, and later stages expect you to rebuild your army composition rather than repeat one build. If you want a tower defense you can win half-asleep, this is not it. If you want one that makes you restart a map and think — welcome back.

Free to play, with optional purchases for extra heroes and gold. Landscape, Android 5.0 and up.

Not only is it just every level from the artifact and the same plot, but the scaling is so out of sync that only with multiple goblin market purchases can progress even be made. The enemies are all too fast, barracks are useless, and the final 3 levels are nothing short of unfun hell, literally. No wonder there's no walkthrough anywhere on how to win; it's just not worth it.

The original flash game on PC, incursion 2, was way better. This one is just a lame representation. Everything is way more limited, more unfair, etc... Like normally, Targa is supposed to have the choice between 4 magic schools, some items are permanent like the teleportation *ring* and the pet, etc again. At least, make the said items permanent or, if you don't want to put back the magic schools, make all characters unlockable through levels. Make special harder ones if you want to.

Theres alot of problems, mainly it's main form of tower composition clashing with eachother instead of supporting as much, there should be more indivdual control for them, you shouldn't need to fully buy every minion to level one up so you have options, heroes should have som abilities be passively used instead or have easier way to use them than be clutered at the bottom. Could use creative updates and this needs a remake as alot of these issue should be fixed that way as the game is fun.
