Destination Duck isn’t just an app—it’s a new twist on the fun tradition of “Jeep® ducking,” where people leave rubber ducks on Jeeps® and other vehicles to spread a bit of surprise and joy. We’ve taken that concept and brought it into the digital age, making each duck’s journey trackable, interactive, and full of stories. With Destination Duck, simply tap your duck to your phone to sync it into the app and watch the journey unfold!

The Journey Begins
Every Destination Duck connects with the app, which becomes its official migration journal. Every time someone new receives a duck, they can sync it into the Destination Duck mobile app where each location is noted in the "migration journal." The app records each leg of the journey, showing a broad location (like a city or region) where it was last “spotted.”

Bringing Ducking to Life
With Destination Duck, we’ve transformed the beloved tradition of Jeep® ducking into a connected, interactive experience. Now, instead of simply leaving a duck and wondering where it might end up, you can follow its path in the app as it travels from place to place. The original owner even gets to name their duck before sending it off on its journey! The migration journal turns each duck’s travels into a shared story, designed to bring the ducking community closer together and make every journey more memorable.

Safe, Simple, and Private
Your privacy is our top priority. Destination Duck never live-tracks users, doesn’t show precise locations, and doesn’t use personal details. Every journal update in the app reflects only the broad area of the duck’s last scan, ensuring the journey remains safe, lighthearted, and fun.

What’s new

We removed the QR Scan button to eliminate the confusion on what to scan. The QR code on the Info tags are not registered to report duck information and thus no duck can be scanned via this method. We included the ability to use QR Code scanning as a backup if the NFC tag failed but this is creating more confusion than keeping the button around is worth.
