About this app

iTag bluetooth devices are perfect gadgets for anyone who frequently misplaces keys, wallets, phones, or remotes. iTag One is the free, open-source Android companion to keep track of your important belongings.

The devices are available on numerous online stores for just $1 to $1.50 — a small investment for peace of mind.

GETTING STARTED

Scanning for new iTags is simple: tap the scan button, then remember discovered devices with the plus button next to each one.

ANTI-LOST ALARM

When an iTag goes out of range (approximately 15m / 50ft), your phone starts buzzing and the iTag image vibrates on screen. The alarm can be silenced instantly by tapping the notification, the iTag image, or the real device's button. You can also mute alerts for a period of time using the bell button — useful if you intentionally left something behind.

A configurable delay (0, 3, 5, or 10 seconds) prevents false alarms from momentary signal drops.

BIDIRECTIONAL SEARCH

Find your belongings: tap the iTag image on your phone and the real device starts buzzing.

Find your phone: double-click the button on any iTag to make your phone ring. Double-click is used intentionally — we found that single-click causes too many accidental triggers in real life.

GPS LOCATION

When an iTag disconnects, iTag One records its last GPS location. View the location on Google Maps to retrace your steps.

WayToday integration provides optional continuous GPS tracking at configurable intervals (1 second, 5 minutes, or 1 hour), storing up to 500 locations for 2 weeks.

Out of the 2 other itag apps, this one is by far the best. It does what it's supposed to do. One thing it needs in my opinion is a labeling of what the icons are. (It seems most of the top critical reviews (from this app and many others) come from people who cannot form basic sentences. I'm assuming, user error, in most cases).

THIS IS AWESOME! We're going to make a necklace for MIL. At first, I thought the soft beep was it. I was like, "Oh, Great! Junk!" But nope! Go ahead! Walk away from a correctly paired device. This key finder's quiet but the PHONE gets loud. Duh! Got it! The app seems ok so far, but I DO have to write clearer instructions for 90yr olds.

So, it detected my generic tags, and will use them both to find lost keys, and the tags will alarm my lost phone if I double click them! That's a win! I'd give 5 stars, but it is a little wonky occasionally requiring me to tap the screen more than once to activate the tags...but I'm not 100% sure that isn't due to the generic tags.
