Scallergy is a personal allergen scanner. Tell it once what you react to, then point your camera at any food barcode — and get one of four honest answers in seconds:

🛑 AVOID — the product contains an allergen from your list
⚠️ CAUTION — a "may contain" or cross-contamination warning matches your list
✅ LOOKS OK — we found no matches in the ingredient data
◆ UNKNOWN — not enough data, and we say so honestly

WHY SCALLERGY

• Made for real allergies. Covers all FDA Top 9 and EU 14 mandatory allergens — including aliases and derivatives, so "casein" flags milk and "tahini" flags sesame. Word-boundary matching means "buckwheat" never false-flags wheat, and "dairy-free" isn't mistaken for dairy.

• Allergen lists for the whole family. Create separate named lists — yours, your partner's, your kid's — and switch any of them on. Scans check every active list at once, so one trip through the store covers everyone.

• Severity your way. Tag each allergen mild, moderate, or severe. Every direct match reads Avoid regardless — we never downplay a hit.

• Product missing? Add it. If a barcode isn't in any database, photograph the label and ingredients — the app reads them on your device and checks your allergens right away. Submissions are verified by a human before other users see them.

• Honest by design. No ads. No sponsored products. No brand can pay to look safer. When data is missing, you get "Unknown" — not a guess.

• Fast in the aisle. Barcode recognition in about a second, verdict with the matched ingredients highlighted right in the ingredient list.

• Your history, synced. Every scan is saved with its verdict at scan time. Sign in with Google, Apple, or email and your lists follow you across devices.

DATA SOURCES

Product data comes from USDA FoodData Central (US), Open Food Facts (global, community-maintained), and human-reviewed community submissions. Every result shows its source and when it was fetched.
