About this app

Web platform designed and developed by the Italian radio amateur IU1FIG Diego Rispoli. Services for Amateur Radio, CB, SWL, PMR and GMRS. The idea of creating the "Map for Radio Amateurs" was born from the need for complete and immediate consultation on all activities and general information concerning the world of amateur radio. Published in December 2020, one of the main objectives of the project is to involve all radio amateurs and enthusiasts who are interested in it and above all of any association, club and nationality. The Map is interactive, zoomable and clickable, an easy and quick consultation on the global geographical position with useful information on amateur radio repeater radio links; analogue, dmr, c4fm, d-star, echolink, beacon etc. The map is full of other interesting markers. A non-profit project designed for all radio amateurs, SWLs and radio communication enthusiasts. An application, website and useful tool for those who want to become a radio amateur. To ensure the publication of always up-to-date and reliable information, the data visible in the form of markers is obtained automatically directly from the sources or with manual entry by the community. Our aim is to make the map dynamic and always updated, and this is only possible thanks to a collective collaboration (Ham Spirit).

I couldn't figure out how to filter repeaters based on the band. The only repeaters it did show in my area were listed as offline, and repeaterbook shows online ones. It automatically puts you into the Italian version on start. It would be nice if we could pick the language on the first start. Scrolling in the drop-down on the right of the map is non-existent. You have to make sure you minimize other fields so you can see the entirety of the field you're interested in. UI needs work.

Thanks for the feedback. Band filtering isn't available yet but is planned. Repeater data comes from RepeaterBook, so differences may depend on the source. Language can be set in user preferences after login. Bug reports and suggestions can be sent via the dashboard.

I love the idea of this app, but I experienced the whole thing lagging out, and I was unable to do much, I don't even know if it would have shown me data in the U.S, might try it on another device, I would like to see this app grow, could be. Useful tool, might could add scanner frequencies to it as well, maybe link it with radio reference? Anyhow app looked good,I sadly couldn't use it,but want to.. ✌️

Hi R, thanks for trying the app! You can also use the platform from your browser at www.mapforham.com. Registration is not required, and you can freely explore the icons on the map. On the main map, use the menu at the top right to select the available layers. For any questions, feel free to contact us at iu1fig@mapforham.com

Only Italy Edit, I changed my rating after being contacted by the developer. There are some downsides. For example: Outside Italy no analog repeaters are shown. Since this project is mostly crowd sorced this is understandable. It could become a most go tool if more data is available and if the data would be stored in the phone, so one can access information from remote areas
