About this app

Wear OS 2.0 removed synchronization of the Do Not Disturb state between the watch and the phone. This application restores the old Wear 1.5 behaviour.

Version 1.4 of the application registers a minimal listener service to get notified of Do Not Disturb state changes.

Follow the steps below to activate watch to phone syncing:

1. Install and launch the phone app.
2. Tap the "Grant Permission" button and grant the app the requested permission.
3. Install and launch the watch application from the Play Store.

Version 1.1 of the app optionally adds support for bi-directional sync for users able to use ADB. To enable phone to watch sync, users need to manually following the steps described at the link below.

It does not detect when DND is toggled off by a routine (including the stock Android system's built-in routines), only when it is toggled off on the phone manually, so when one is turned off, DND on the watch remains on, which then syncs back to the phone and turns DND back on again. This app's rival, DND Sync for Wear by Raimondas Rimkus, handles this situation flawlessly. The only reason I still use this one at all is that app is marked as incompatible with my newest watch for some reason, so I can only install it on my older models. Oh, and by the way, different levels of DND (Priority VS alarms only) is only a thing on pre-9.0 Android, yet it still shows up in settings on 9.0. There should really be a switch for that.

Sadly doesn't work from phone-to-watch on Fossil Q Sport. I've used it bidirectionally with no issues on my other Wear watches, but it seems the Wear OS version on the Fossil Sport keeps reverting the enabled_notification_listeners setting no matter what I do. It always automatically removes the string for this app for some reason. Wish it could be fixed.

As far as I'm aware it's caused by a change made by Google in later versions. I'm still looking for a solution.

I'm in the same boat as others - the latest version of Wear OS has broken it. Not the developer's fault. For all those in a similar position, please take a moment to open the Wear OS app on your phone and go to Help & Feedback -> send feedback to let Google know we'd like to be able to sync DND mode again.
