About this app

Manyverse is a social network app using the SSB protocol (Secure Scuttlebutt) where you can write posts and share with friends nearby or over the internet. It's different from mainstream social networks because your data is yours, it lives on your phone, not in the cloud. So there is no login, no company holding your data, no ads, no tracking of your activity, it's just you and your friends! The app is free and open source software, and it will always remain free.

Features
- Write posts (even when offline)
- Share posts to friends over the internet or nearby (in the same Wi-Fi or with Bluetooth)
- Scroll through many conversations with friends and add your own comments
- Likes
- More features as we develop the app!

Manyverse is a very welcome addition to the family of SSB (secure scuttlebutt) clients, and for an early beta stage app it does what it aims to well. I've had issues where posts I'm editing disappear in cases of the phone rotating which is frustrating behavior, but not terribly odd for beta. The most important features I'd say are still needed are the ability to use #channels that other ssb clients make use of, and the ability to post attachments (pictures at least). Oh, and documentation.

Thanks! We're still working on features like channels, but posting pictures is now possible since version 0.1909.11. Try it out! :)

The passphrase recovery system is bugged, entering the passphrase results in being told that the enrty was wrong. Backing out and "starting a new account" reveals passphrase entry was successful (and the data syncs from my other wifi connected account) Connecting into a larger network and downloading all the historical data makes it appear broken.. never synced the whole thing (i think)

Manyverse is working perfectly so far. The user interface is clean and easy to understand. Without any prior experience, and thanks to the "easy-ssb-pub" tutorial on scuttlebutt.nz, I managed to create a "pub" server and to connect to my friends with it.
