About this app

FlickBoard is a keyboard for Android that doesn't try to correct or predict you.
It doesn't have an opinion on the correct spelling or tone. It certainly doesn't use any AI.
Because it trusts you to write what you meant to write.

Instead, FlickBoard uses swipes to get away with using vastly fewer (and larger!) buttons than a traditional QWERTY keyboard, helping you build muscle memory, minimize typos, and touch type faster.

Type the letters in the center of a key by tapping it. Type the keys in the corners by swiping in that direction. It's that simple!

FlickBoard is inspired by MessagEase and Thumb-Key. It is also open source, see https://codeberg.org/natkr/flickboard!

I love the macros and layouts and abundance of settings. It looks nice. I have an issue with frequent attempts at spaces not working and registering as swiping up on the spacebar. I wish it would auto capitalize after punctuation or go from numbers to letters after space following numbers. I'm not sure I'll ever get good enough to make this layout work. It's been over a month and I'm painfully slow.

Wow! I've been a HARDCORE ME user for over a decade. It was heartbreaking when they switched to subscription, not because it was going to be paid, but because it became glitchy. I stayed there for long after I was comfortable and have only now found this very comparable alternative. The look is still not quite as customizable but, I'm rather enjoying some of the differeces. I think the emoji selector and voice-to-text options are better. And I really enjoy the Zalgo key and mini num-pad!

My first impression is positive, thanks for all the options, but not an overload of them. Very satisfied with the mini numpad, wondering if you could implement the numpad vs phone layout option to also flip that top/bottom. Also I am right handed but seem to favor the mini left handed version, don't know why. Thank you for the excelent update, addressed all my notes!

Flipping the mini layout sounds like a good idea, I'll add it to the todo list! As for handedness.. yeah, it seems to correlate less to "regular" handedness than I expected, so it would probably be good to find a more neutral name for it.

What’s new

Added Esperanto layout (@raspimana, #384)
Added support for Unicode 16 emojis (in search only, for now)
Some emoji search keywords may have changed (migrated the search backend from gemoji to Emojibase)
Autofill options now show as part of the keyboard, rather than a separate dropdown by the input field (hopefully this should improve compatibility with some password managers)
Very long clipboard entries will now be clipped (in the list) rather than crash the keyboard
