About this app

The Chanterelle Map is a subscription service designed to increase your chances of finding chanterelles. The marked areas on the map are calculated based on a number of factors that are important for chanterelles to thrive.

The Chanterelle Map is perfect for both beginners and experienced mushroom pickers. It serves as a guide to areas with good conditions for finding chanterelles. It is also a good tool for making your mushroom trip more efficient or for exploring new chanterelle locations.

This is what you get in the Chanterelle Map:

* Map with marked chanterelle areas, chanterelle roads and chanterelle trails.
- The marked chanterelle areas have good conditions for chanterelles according to our calculations.
- The marked areas are color-coded according to how thick the forest is. Thick forest can be difficult to walk in but can also yield very good mushroom harvests.
- On the marked roads there are good opportunities to find chanterelles on the side of the road, and the marked trails go through good chanterelle forests.
- The roads and paths are good for those who are not used to walking on unpaved terrain (for the experienced, they work as an easier path through the forest with a chance of finding chanterelles).
- NOTE! Kantarellappen does not have marked areas throughout Sweden. See Kantarellappen's coverage area before choosing to subscribe.

* Filter your own mushroom forest
- Choose a forest with the characteristics you want.
- Choose based on tree type, soil moisture and forest age.
- NOTE! The function only works within Kantarellappen's coverage area.

* Mark your find locations
- Your locations remain your secret and are only saved on your phone.
- Save for future mushroom trips.
- Choose from several mushroom icons.
- Mark where you have parked your car.

* Track your mushroom trip
- See where you have gone.
- Save your tracks for future mushroom trips.

* Clear precipitation statistics
- Combined precipitation statistics from the last three weeks, both in millimeters and as a percentage of normal precipitation.
- No rain - no mushrooms.
- Plan your mushroom trip when the conditions are at their best.

* Store parts of the map in your phone's memory
- If you have problems with poor reception in the forest, you can download smaller parts of the map to your phone's memory before you head out into the forest.

The subscription to Kantarellappen is annual and there is no free trial period. In the first year as a subscriber, the app is cheaper (about 50%).

Note Kantarellappen's coverage map:

Most of Sweden is marked with chanterelle areas. However, there are fewer marked areas on Öland and Gotland and in the southernmost part of Skåne. There are no marked areas in the westernmost part of the Swedish mountain range (see the screenshots above for more info).
