How it works
Reground follows an evidence-based progression designed by psychologists to interrupt the panic cycle:
① Acknowledge — The app meets you where you are. No judgment, just recognition that what you're feeling is real and temporary.
② Breathe — A guided breathing exercise slows your heart rate and activates your body's natural calm response. Choose from Box Breathing (4-4-4-4), the 4-7-8 relaxation technique, or Simple Slow breathing. The animation and optional audio tones guide every inhale, hold, and exhale.
③ Ground — The 5-4-3-2-1 technique pulls your attention into the present moment. Notice five things you can see, four you can touch, three you can hear, two you can smell, one you can taste. One step at a time.
④ Reassure — Personal messages you've written yourself appear on screen. Words you've chosen, in your own voice, for exactly this moment.
⑤ Check in — A gentle moment to notice how you're feeling now compared to when you started.
⑥ Reach out — If you need more support, call your chosen emergency contact directly from the app with a single tap.

Reground is built for shaking hands, tunnel vision, and racing thoughts. Every screen is full-screen and distraction-free. Text is large. Steps are clear. There are no menus to navigate, no decisions to make, no login screens — just the next step forward.

• Choose your tone — Warm & Gentle or Calm & Steady
• Set your age group for age-appropriate language
• Write and save your own personal reassurance messages
• Pick a breathing pattern that works for you
• Choose a color palette that feels calming (Ocean Calm, Forest Rest, Warm Earth, Lavender Dusk, or Soft Cloud)
• Save an emergency contact for one-tap calling
• Toggle sound and haptic feedback on or off
• Available in English and Swedish
Your privacy is built in
Reground never collects your data. Everything — your settings, your messages, your emergency contact — stays on your device. There is no account to create, no server to connect to, no analytics tracking your usage. When you uninstall the app, everything is gone. That's by design.
