talkback.se is where a mix gets settled. This is its app: everything you were doing at the desk, carried out to the sofa, the bus and the car.
ONE CLOCK, EVERY VERSION
A and B and C play on the same clock and only one of them is audible. Switching is a gain change, not a seek, so the comparison happens mid bar with no gap and no restart. That is the whole point of the thing, and it is what makes the difference between two mixes obvious in two seconds rather than two minutes.
STREAMING
Hear your master through Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, Tidal, Amazon or Deezer's own codec, and hear exactly what that codec removed. Master, codec and the difference play on one clock, so you switch mid bar.
BLIND
Hide the letters, shuffle the order and decide between 1, 2 and 3 with your ears alone. Reveal when you have made up your mind.
THE WHOLE RECORD, IN ORDER
Album projects play through in sequence, with the levels exactly as they sit. Transitions plays only the seams, the last seconds of one song into the first of the next, with the CD gap if you want it, so you can hear a running order rather than imagine it.
SAY IT AT THE SECOND IT HAPPENS
Comments carry a timestamp. Tap one and you are at that moment in that version. Reply, react, and edit what you wrote. The conversation is the same one as on the website, live, not a copy, and new comments are marked as new.
APPROVE OR REJECT FROM THE PHONE
Each version wears its verdicts, so you can see what has been settled and what is still open. Approve or reject with a note: it lands in the conversation and the owner is told. LUFS, true peak and loudness range for the version you are hearing sit in a display under the clock.
SHARE WITHOUT LOSING THE REINS
Make a link from the phone and decide what it allows: comment, approve, download, an expiry date, a password, or just the one song. Existing links are listed with what they have seen.
ON THE LOCK SCREEN
The controls are on the lock screen and in the notification shade, and next and previous step between A, B and C on a single, so a version change does not need the phone in your hand.
WHEN SOMETHING HAPPENS
A new version, a comment, an approval: the phone tells you, and the activity list says what it was about.

Keep your own projects on the phone for a flight or a tunnel.
