Invasive alien species (IAS) pose a multifaceted problem of modern society and ecosystems. ITV outcompete native species, disturb the delicate balance of ecosystems, worsen their resistance and prevent their sustainable use. Most entries ITV is accidental and due to global trade or migration of people. Eradication ITV can only be effective if ITV detected early enough, when it occurs in a very limited way, and to respond quickly with appropriate oppressive measures. This is precisely one of the tasks of the LIFE project ARTEMIS, which aims to raise awareness, training and action for ITV in the woods. The project will establish a system for early detection and rapid response to the findings of ITV in Slovenia (OHO system). An important part of the Zoho is a public electronic information system to collect data on the prevalence of ITV in Slovenia. We developed and we have established an electronic information system, which we named Invazivke and includes desktop, web and mobile application. Invazivke system has been designed to connect a number of existing information systems already collect data on ITV. Web and mobile application are intended for the general public, a desktop application is intended for employees in the public forestry service.
Invazivke Mobile application is free and is intended for the general public. To use the application you must register using a valid email address. It is intended for a terrain data collection with smart device that includes a GPS sensor and a digital camera. This allows us to automatically capture device location (exact X and Y coordinates) and the photo, which greatly facilitates and speeds up data entry. The user also remains a manual selection type from the drop-down list. The application is also available with a manual describing ITV, including imagery to facilitate the identification of the body found. Mobile application allows you to record Invazivke finds ITV without an Internet connection. Exchange of data with a central server running on the user's request, when connected to the Internet and is done after the process of synchronization.
Part of mobile applications Invazivke list ITV with their descriptions. The description of each species includes photos of the most typical symptoms, the origin of species, route of administration, the list of neighboring countries, where the species is already occurring, the period of detection and activity types, habitat description, status, influence, and a list of similar types together with descriptions of distinctive character.
Mobile application was developed within the framework of the LIFE project ARTEMIS (GIE LIFE15 / UK / 000,770), which was co-funded by: the LIFE program of the European Commission, the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning and Municipality of Ljubljana (period 2016-2020).
