Background Protection (Foreground Service)

Guard uses a visible Android Foreground Service ("Guardian") to reliably detect the currently active app and enforce your configured blocking rules in real time.

The Foreground Service only runs when protection is enabled, displays a persistent notification, and can be disabled by the user at any time.

Without the Foreground Service, app blocking, time limits and protection mechanisms could be delayed or interrupted by Android background restrictions.
