About this app
come say hi on mu
mu is a place for real conversation and proper fun in equal measure. Dig into politics and news, swap photography and tech tips, then unwind with daft memes and far too many cat GIFs. Thoughtful when you want it, playful when you don't.
What you can do
• Post whatever: words, photos, videos, and a frankly unreasonable number of GIFs
• Build your own news feed: pick the regions and topics you care about, from politics to climate to art and culture, drawn from credible sources
• Spot an event in your feed and RSVP with one tap
• Play with your companion pet - a cat, a puppy, and even a fox
• New stuff to try most weeks
Different by design
• No profiling. No selling your data. Ever.
• Built and hosted in Europe, under European law
• Open source at heart, on the open AT Protocol
• Verification by many, not one: credible organizations vouch for people in their network, so no single company decides who counts
Part of something bigger
mu runs on the Atmosphere, the open network of social apps used by more than 45 million people. Have a Bluesky account? Sign in to mu and your posts, follows, and followers are already there. New here? Create a free Eurosky account and it works across the whole network. Your account belongs to you and moves with you.
mu is for adults (18+).
mu is built by Eurosky, the European programme for open, sovereign social infrastructure, and operated by Stichting Modal, a non-profit foundation in the Netherlands.
