About this app

SayIt reads your notifications out loud so you don't have to look at your phone.

Driving, cooking, at the gym, hands full of something else — SayIt speaks the app name, who
it's from, and what they said, through your headset or your phone's speaker.

Everything happens on your device. Nothing you receive is ever uploaded.


WHAT IT READS

• Messages from any app you choose — WhatsApp, Telegram, Signal, SMS, email, anything
• Who's calling, before you reach for the phone
• Verification codes, spoken digit by digit so you can actually catch them
• Media messages announced by type: "sent a photo", "sent a voice message"


DECIDE HOW MUCH IS SAID

Three privacy modes, with a preview you can listen to before you commit:

• Full — app, sender and message
• Hide content — app and sender only
• App only — just the app name

Set a different mode for when a headset is connected, so your phone speaker never says more
than you want it to in a room full of people.


CONTROL WHEN IT SPEAKS

• Only with a headset connected — silent through the phone speaker
• Only while the screen is off, or only while locked
• Quiet hours, with separate weekend hours
• Never during a call, never during Do Not Disturb — or override both
• Auto-start when Bluetooth connects, auto-stop when it disconnects
• Shake to stop mid-sentence


BUILT FOR REAL MESSAGE FLOODS

• Group chats: read every message, just count them ("3 messages in Family Group"), or mute
groups entirely
• Shorten long messages to a length you can actually follow
• Rate limit, so a burst of notifications doesn't talk over itself
• Digest mode: collect everything and read a summary every few minutes
• Skip promotional and marketing notifications
• Strip links and hashtags — "shared a link" instead of a hundred characters of URL


MAKE IT SOUND RIGHT

• Speed and pitch, with an instant preview
• Word replacement: have "lol" read as "laughing", or give a contact a nickname
• Keyword filters — only read what matches, or never read what matches
• Priority contacts that get through even during quiet hours
• Per-app speech speed
• Lower music while reading, then restore it
• Automatic language detection for messages in another language

PRIVACY

SayIt processes notifications entirely on your device. There is no server, no account, no
analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind. The optional notification history is
stored privately on your phone and can be cleared or switched off at any time.

Speech is produced by the text-to-speech engine already installed on your device.

SayIt needs notification access to work. That permission is used for one thing only: reading
your notifications aloud.
