UpTime keeps a countdown or a stopwatch on screen while you use any other app.

Play a game, follow a recipe, run a workout, study, present. The time stays where you can see it, and it is still there when you switch apps.


IT KEEPS COUNTING

Most of what goes wrong with a floating timer is that it quietly stops. UpTime never counts seconds itself — it reads the time from your device's own clock every time it draws, so there is nothing to stop.

Tested on a real phone: it keeps time with the screen off, when you switch apps, when Android kills the app to free memory, and across a full restart.

And if the system ever delivers a finish late — the device was asleep, restarted, or held back by your manufacturer's battery settings — UpTime says so instead of pretending otherwise.


CONTROLS THAT DON'T GO OFF BY ACCIDENT

Tapping the bubble opens the controls. It does not pause, reset or stop anything on its own.

Reset and Stop live inside the control card and ask for a second tap on a red button, so a stray touch can't cost you a running timer. Nothing destructive is bound to a bare tap, double tap or long press.

Prefer speed? There's an optional quick-tap setting — off by default, and even switched on it can never be bound to Reset or Stop.


EVERYTHING INCLUDED, NOTHING LOCKED

• Up to 20 timers and stopwatches at once

There is no premium tier. There is nothing to unlock.


TIMER

• Presets at 1, 3, 5, 10, 15, 25 and 30 minutes
• Any duration from 1 second to 99:59:59
• +10 seconds, +1 minute, restart and stop, straight from the bubble
• Optional count-up after zero, so you can see how long ago it finished
• Alarm sound, vibration and an on-screen alert — each optional


STOPWATCH

• Laps and splits, with the fastest and slowest marked
• Seconds, tenths or hundredths
• Correct the elapsed time by hand if a restart ever leaves it wrong


OUT OF THE WAY, STILL VISIBLE

Drag the bubble anywhere. Let go and it settles against the edge you choose, then shrinks into a slim tab that still shows the time. It expands again the moment you touch it, and whenever a timer finishes.

You choose the seconds for both — nothing here says "after a while" without telling you how long.


FAST TO START

A Quick Settings tile and launcher shortcuts start your last timer, a five-minute timer or a stopwatch without opening the app. Tapping twice by mistake will not give you two timers.


PRIVATE BY CONSTRUCTION

UpTime has no internet permission. Not "does not send data" — it cannot. Android will not let an app without it open a connection, and you can check the permission list yourself.

No accounts, ads, analytics, crash reporting or tracking. Your timers, labels and settings stay on your device, and uninstalling deletes them.

It cannot read your screen or see which apps you use, and never asks for camera, microphone, location, contacts, files or usage access.


WHAT IT CANNOT DO

Android hides all floating overlays over banking, payment, password and permission screens. The bubble disappears there and comes back afterwards. System bars, the keyboard and the notification shade also draw above it.

If you force stop UpTime in Android settings, its alarms are cancelled and running timers stop.

Some manufacturers restrict background apps aggressively, which can delay a finish. Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO phones need a second permission of their own — the in-app help says exactly where.

UpTime is not an app blocker, screen-time limiter or parental control. It shows you the time. What you do with it is up to you.
