Moeda Solar/PalmaSolar is a digital platform developed by Banco Palmas to facilitate access for residents of Conjunto Palmeiras to solar energy generated by the PalmaSola community plant. Through the application, users can purchase monthly quotas of up to 150 kWh at R$0.30 per kWh—a value significantly lower than that charged by the local concessionaire. In addition to saving on the electricity bill, the application integrates the digital social currency Palmas, allowing payments to be made in a practical and secure way. Paid credits are partially returned to users as cashback in PalmaSolar, encouraging consumption in local businesses and strengthening the community's solidarity economy. The application also offers features such as:
Visualization and management of purchased energy quotas; Monitoring monthly consumption and payment history; PalmaSolar balance information available for use. Notifications about updates and news from the PalmaSolar project. By integrating technology, sustainability and social inclusion, Moeda Solar/PalmaSolar represents an innovative model of community energy management, promoting social justice and local development.
