About this app

El Nido is a municipality, not just a town. What most people mean by the name is the town proper and Bacuit Bay in front of it — but the beaches worth the trip are spread along thirty kilometres of coast, and almost none of that is obvious when you arrive.

This app is a map of it, with the practical detail written next to each place.

WHAT IS IN IT

• A map of the municipality: the town, Bacuit Bay and the island-hopping stops, the beaches north and south, the airport and the ferry pier.
• Places filtered by what you actually want — eat, drink, stay, tours, transport, rentals, services, shops, nature.
• Opening hours, where they are known.
• Menu prices, recorded from the menu rather than estimated.
• Phone numbers and directions, so you can arrange a room or a boat before you are standing outside it.
• Search, if you already know the name.
• Your own position on the map, so you can tell which side of town you are on.

HOW IT IS WRITTEN

Every entry shows when it was last checked. Prices and schedules here change, and a guide that does not say how old its numbers are is asking you to trust them further than it can.

Nothing is invented. If an opening time or a phone number is not known, the entry leaves it blank rather than filling it with a guess. Menu prices are what the menu printed on the day they were recorded — a guide to what to expect, not a quotation.

Descriptions of businesses are neutral, or they are quotes with the source named. None of it is our own praise put in a business's mouth.

BEFORE YOU ARRIVE
