Long before the rainforest closed over them, Maya scribes cut whole histories into standing stone. Here that stone is a four sided column, and reading it means turning it. A drag spins the pillar on its axis, a pinch pulls the view closer, and a tap on any carved tablet clears it together with every matching glyph connected to it. Because the faces wrap into one another, a group can curl around a corner and out of sight, and your judgement improves the moment you stop treating each side as a separate board.
Clearing a group drops everything resting above it, so a single tap can rearrange all four faces at once and open a chain that was not there a second earlier. Stone keeps pushing up from the base at a steady interval, and letting the carving climb past the crown of the column ends the attempt. Ratings are counted in taps rather than time, which quietly favours the player who turns the column twice more before choosing, and punishes the one who simply clears whatever happens to be facing them.
A pale stone road winds through twenty cities, beginning among the earliest lowland platforms and ending at the throne of the feathered serpent. Columns grow taller along the way, the range of carvings widens, and at four great sanctuaries the stone climbs at a noticeably sharper pace. A solve using fewer taps than there were glyphs earns three stars, so cities already behind you remain worth another visit. Jade gathered along the route funds everything waiting off the road, and there is a good deal of it.
Each cleared city unlocks a codex page setting a brief legend beside something genuinely documented, from a hieroglyphic stairway of more than two thousand carved signs to a canal network built to carry a city through the dry season. Trials pose questions on glyph writing, the Long Count, jade, maize, and the rain god, closing the moment an answer slips and favouring a sustained run of correct ones. Jade also buys colour palettes that reskin the whole journey. Effects and haptics are adjustable throughout. Progress belongs to whoever reads the stone before touching it.
